Cola Wars in Poland
Posted February 12th, 2010 in Business news by Ela Pawełek-LuberaPepsiCo has launched a fierce promotional campaign in Poland in order to woo customers away from Coca-Cola.
Although Coca-Cola Company is the leader on the Polish non-alcoholic beverages market, PepsiCo is fallowing hard in its heels. In order to keep up a growing trend, the company from North Carolina has decreased prices of some of its products as part of a new promotion.
Now Poles can buy two two-litre bottles of Pepsi for only 6 zloty (1.5 euro), which is 2 zloty (0.5 euro) less than the price of Coca-Cola. PepsiCo has also launched a campaign at video rentals, where a bottle of Pepsi costs 2.99 zloty (0.73 euro).
“We especially want to woo people who haven’t decided yet what mark they prefer,” says Bartlomiej Szmaj from Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers.
It is expected that soon Coca-Cola Company will also go to a price war with PepsiCo, to the benefit of Poles who will be able to buy cheaper beverages.
