Posted June 21st, 2010 in Business news by Ela Pawełek-LuberaFrom May 31 to June 5, a delegation of representatives of the city of Kielce was with a trade mission in China. On June 2 the delegation promoted the city in Shanghai on a Polish-Chinese seminar entitled “Kielce – a gateway to Europe.”
The seminar was organized for representatives of key companies in the Kielce region and their potential partners from China. The meeting was attended by the President of Kielce, Mr Wojciech Lubawskie, the Deputy Commissioner General of the Polish Expo Section Mr Bogdan Marczewski and Head of the Department of Trade and Investment Promotion at the Polish Consulate General in Shanghai, Mr Andrzej Pieczonka.
This is another trade mission organized in the framework of the promotion programme of Poland on EXPO 2010. The idea behind the mission was to promote Kielce as a perfect place to invest and as a location open to Chinese partners. – We want to invite Chinese entreprenuers to invest in Poland and, above all in Kielce. We prove that Kielce is a gateway to business in Europe – said Wojciech Lubawskie, the President of Kielce.
The mission was attended by representatives of key businesses such as Targi Kielce, an exhibition and fairs centre, Kielce Airport, the Kielce Technology Park and the two major Kielce-based higher education establishments: the Jan Kochanowski University and the Kielce University of Technology. Moreover, the seminar was attended by representatives of Yi Long Construction, a company which has been present on the Polish market for years.
The seminar and other business meetings organized by the Kielce mission were thought as an opportunity to present projects realised in the Kielce region and the opportunities which await potential investors in the region. During the meetings potential partners could start contacts which are expected to lead to joint ventures in the future.
Andrew Mochoń, President of Targi Kielce believes that Poland and Kielce have a lot to offer to Chinese entrepreneurs – not only good conditions for exhibition events but also serious business partners. Targi Kielce ranks second in Poland after the Poznań International Fairs, and classify on third position in Eastern Europe among exhibition centres.
During the mission the Kielce-based companies and their potential will also be presented in Beijing and Taizhou. Kielce is the only city in Poland, which has its website in Chinese.
