The city and the SEZ want to create a subzone in Piła.
The agreement was signed by the Mayor of Piła – Mr Piotr Głowski and the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone representatives – Mrs. Teresa Kamińska, President of the SEZ and Mr. Józef Adam Bela, Chief Operating Officer.
The sub-zone would cover 21.8ha of grounds owned by the city. The mentioned area was in 2010 awarded by PAIiIZ in the 4th edition of the nationwide investment grounds’ contest as a very attractive place to invest. It is worthy emphasizing that this year Piła was recognized as the most business-friendly city in the north-western Poland by Newsweek, one of the biggest weekly magazines in Poland. The city ranked 1st in Wielkopolska region and 14th in Poland. The ranking was based on 28 different criteria such as: price of land, premises lease cost, tax rates, business services cost, city budget expenditures planned for 2011 per capita, labour market indicators, average salary and communication infrastructure. Piła effectively combines moderate business-related costs and attractive investment opportunities.
