Poland May Cut its Stake in Lotos Fuel to Below 50pct
Posted January 26th, 2010 in Business news by Ela Pawełek-LuberaPoland may cut its stake in listed fuel firm Lotos to below 50% still this year, deputy Treasury Minister Mikołaj Budzanowski told the parliamentary Treasury Commission.
The move, already suggested by TreasMin Alesander Grad, would require changing state strategy for the fuel sector, which now assumes Poland will retain a majority stake in Lotos.
Originally Poland planned to sell a 13% stake it received from the company in return for downstream assets, which would put the state shareholding in Lotos back at 51%.
