Polish Public Universities Want to Introduce Tuition Fees
Posted December 8th, 2009 in Business news by Ela Pawełek-LuberaRectors of Polish universities, who met yesterday at a conference devoted to the future of higher education, call for the introduction of tuition fees as of 2015.
The fees should amount to one fourth of average costs of education at public universities, Jerzy Woźnicki, Chairman of University Rectors Foundation told the daily Rzeczpospolita.
The proposal requires debate and changes in the Constitution, hence the remote date, he added.
The rectors find the condition of Polish higher education system as unsatisfactory, mostly on account of insufficient funding, especially for science, the professor explained.
