Prince Charles and his wife Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall, visited POSK, the Polish Cultural Centre in London Wednesday night, meeting with representatives of NGOs and veterans.

The visit comes on the threshold of the tour which the Prince of Wales is making of Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary in mid-March.

At the Polish Centre, the royal couple listened to a Chopin recital by a 11-year-old pianist and saw an exhibition of posters devoted to Solidarity. At the following reception, pierogi were served.

As a special gift, the Centre presented the Prince of Wales with a statuette with a map of Poland and the words “To our British Friends from Polish Friends” as well as a DVD of the opera Verbum Nobile by Stanisław Moniuszko, which had been staged at the Centre.
