The German concern BSH has launched a research and development centre and an IT services centre in Lodz; the related outlays amounted to PLN 15m (approx. €3.8m).
The opening of the R&D centre follows the localisation of a BSH clothes dryer factory in the town. The centre will focus its research on lowering energy consumption and noise emissions of appliances produced at the Lodz factory. Meanwhile, the IT service centre, comprising a “helpdesk”, is to assist 20,000 BSH employees throughout the world. The two newly-created centres will take on 54 employees in total.
Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte (BSH) has been present in Poland since 1993, with three factories in Lodz, manufacturing clothes and dish washers and clothes dryers, and a staff of 1,400 persons.
