The Pasaż Grunwaldzki shopping and entertainment mall, the largest facility of its kind in Wrocław, opened to customers at the end of April. According to the center’s administrator, during its first two weeks the mall attracted about 100,000 customers. The mall is the largest project completed by investor and developer Echo Investment. Wojciech Piechut, the Pasaż Grunwaldzki director, believes that the next few weekends will see record numbers of customers. “Naturally, the facility is attracting interest, and most stores are planning attractive promotional activities. Beyond a doubt, over the next few weekends we can expect an enormous amount of customer interest,” he said. The center accommodates almost 200 stores and service outlets on about 130,000 sq m, with a number of brands debuting on the market in Wrocław, including Saturn, Delikatesy Tradycja i Jakość, Stradivarius, Bershka, Galeria Centrum, Pull & Bear, Esprit, Wallis, Aldo, Street, Home&You, Gluck, Bertoni, Pepe Jeans, Bugatti, Replay Jeans and Duka. The many cafes and restaurants as well as the roofed garden with a children’s playing area provide extra attractions. The center’s main tenants are Multikino, which will open mid-May, Saturn, Zara, H&M, C&A, Galeria Centrum, Intersport, Reserved, New Yorker, Empik, Smyk, Esprit, Mango and T&J. Customers can use a convenient parking lot for 1,400 vehicles. Construction work on the project started in the fall of 2004. The investment is worth about zl.300 million. The center was designed by the MOFO Polish architects’ studio on the basis of a concept drafted by the Chapman Taylor international office. The general contractor is Strabag. The center employs a staff of about 1,500.
