PGS Software presents – Uglyfier for Android – graphical asset shrinking gradle script

December 20, 2016, Bartosz Stokrocki

In some cases, APK size during development matters – especially when you deploy Android project remotely using a limited mobile data plan. To address this problem, our team developed a gradle script, that allows you to build “uglyfied” variant of your application by heavily reducing the quality of all graphical assets.

The script will also take care of file merging if there is a need of having uglyfied version of non-main build variant. If, for some reasons, small APK size matters for you more than high quality images, Uglyfier is definitely worth trying.
